Our Hiker Heroes are taking on the ominous Drakensberg Traverse in the middle of winter to raise awareness and funds for our own little superhero Katelyn! They feel that each step they take and the hardships they will face, will in a small way, speak to all that Katelyn has endured this past year and will endure on her journey to getting better.

But, before these heroes take on the big, bad, berg… they will be climbing an even tougher mountain… Mount Fundraising. These heroes need YOUR help to get them up this treacherous terrain and will be letting you know why they are the ones to back in our Facebook Group… https://www.facebook.com/groups/1136421363205706/ … your donations in sponsorship of your favourite hiker will ensure they climb the competition mountain more and more each week, and ultimately reach their goal to help out their fellow hero, Katelyn.

The team welcomes all hiking enthusiasts to take part in this expedition, not only to raise awareness and funds for Katelyn, but for all children suffering from cancer. If you’re not keen on hiking, but keen on supporting, join in the fun of helping get your favourite hero up the mountain first.

Kure For Katelyn On Voetsy

Hi and welcome to our fundraising shop!

 

On 9 November 2017, just two months after Katelyn’s third birthday, she had extensive surgery to remove a brain tumour. She was subsequently diagnosed with Grade 4 Central Nervous System Embryonal Neuroblastoma. On the 4th of December 2017, she started a chemotherapy protocol.

 

Katelyn is only the second recorded case in South Africa of this kind of a brain tumour. Katelyn needs a treatment called Proton Beam therapy, which is not available in South Africa and according to Katelyn’s Oncologists, because it is a very expensive process, it is not likely to be available in South Africa any time in the foreseeable future.

 

Help us to raise the funds we need to take Katelyn Overseas to receive this treatment, by either purchasing our fundraising products in this store or donating to our GoFundMe Page. You can also donate products to our store, where sales proceeds can be shared in part or fully with the Kure for Katelyn fund.

Parcels are delivered 1 working day after receiving the order. Depending on whether or not you are in a Major metro, or an outlying area, the parcel delivery may take 2 -5 working days to reach you. You will receive a tracking number to track your parcel.

Refund Policy

You can exchange/return all/part of your order at any time within 5 working days of receipt. We accept returns/exchanges if the goods are unused, and in a resalable condition with all tags attached. A handling fee may apply. All courier fees and logistics of returns and exchanges are at the customer's expense, unless for damaged or faulty goods. Please note that on exchanging goods on which you have received a discount, that discount will no longer apply. Refunds are paid within a month of receiving your goods, however this may be quicker depending.
